Hi all, check out this video of my latest acrylic on canvas painting!
Miramont Castle
The Manitou Springs Heritage Center is delighted to offer their second Manitou Springs Jigsaw Puzzle. Painted by local artist Jared Thompson, the painting gives an artistic rendering of Manitou Springs with some of the key historic features emphasized.
A combination of maps and imagination were used to set the layout of the town in a fantastical manner which encompasses the west end of Manitou Springs and the surrounding canyons, mountains, and trails. The detail is remarkable. The final piece of artwork came to life through a multiple step process. Some of the details are so fine that to adequately capture them Thompson painted neighborhood objects such as houses, trees, rocks, and bushes outside the primary canvas and used computer graphic software to shrink and overlay them onto the artwork. Thompson has lived in Manitou Springs since 2014 and has volunteered his time as an artist and photographer on numerous occasions with the Manitou Springs Heritage Center, the Chamber of Commerce, and local businesses.
Not only is this a wonderful keepsake for yourself, it makes a wonderful gift for others. Click here to visit the Manitou Springs Heritage Center website to purchase your puzzle!

Manitou Creative Mural at the Armadillo Ranch
I was honored to paint a completely new mural on the walls of the stage at the Armadillo Ranch (formerly the Ancient Mariner) in Manitou Springs! Join us at the Armadillo Ranch on most first Fridays of the month for small additions to the mural throughout the year as a celebration of Manitou's First Friday Art Walks.
