Giving Back to the Community
Manitou Creative donates 5% of all sales—both online and in-store—to five local non-profit organizations:
“With the opportunity to grow Manitou Creative and become part of the vibrant downtown retail scene, I’m staying grounded in the original mission: to make art for the joy of it and to support my community.
I’m beginning as a small, pop-up shop in our front yard—with dreams of one day building a permanent space. For now, every setup and takedown is worth it. I’m excited to connect with visitors through in-person art sales and an expanding online store.
With effective signage and a QR code for passersby, I see a great opportunity for website traffic and online sales. I’m also setting up an automated drop-shipping system to offer a wide range of printed art products.

About Manitou Creative
Jared Thompson, a local artist and resident of Manitou Springs, is the creative mind behind Manitou Creative. His colorful, imaginative works span acrylic on canvas, mixed media, and photography—featuring iconic local scenes like Pikes Peak, Garden of the Gods, and Manitou Springs, as well as vivid fantasy landscapes, animals, and characters.
Operating as an open-air, pop-up art shop, Manitou Creative offers a unique and interactive experience. You might catch Jared painting live at the easel—or even playing saxophone, sometimes joined by local musicians for spontaneous front-yard jam sessions.
